Spoon Carving Workshop with Tom Hepworth (and optional wine tour/tasting)

Under the expert guidance of Tom Hepworth you will learn all the core techniques of carving fresh wood with a whittling knife, using these to shape your spoon from a blank, before hollowing the bowl with a spoon knife. Most importantly Tom will teach you all you need to work safely, meaning you can continue practicing and learning at home with confidence. Finally we will cover the basics of knife sharpening - an essential component for those wanting to get started in the craft.

This forms a perfect introduction for anyone interested in woodwork, or can simply be a relaxing and therapeutic way to spend a few hours in a beautiful place!

Workshop details:

9am - 1pm

Please bring appropriate footwear for Vineyard environment. Course will take place under shelter of a Marquee. Mid morning teas/coffees and biscuits will be provided. Amenities on site. Please arrive at least 15mins before. Any questions or individual requests please contact us prior.  Unfortunately due to the nature of the course, we cannot issue refunds after 14 days prior to the event.

Wine Tour

To those also interested in the Vineyard, there is an additional option to purchase a reduced rate Vineyard Tour, which will commence after the workshop has finished, see ticket options to add wine tour to your experience. After the workshop has finished, there will be time to break for lunch/picnic (not provided, please bring your own lunch), after which roughly between 1:45pm and 2pm, those with Wine Tour tickets will join owner Tim for a 90 minute wine tour and guided tasting session. You will learn about the Vineyard and its operations and afterwards sit down to a guided tasting session of the 3 wines made by Quoit at Cross Vineyard. This wine tour is a reduced rate add on, please select it at checkout.
